Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a network engineer to provide daily operational support for LAN core and edge switches across a medical network campus. You will resolve routing protocol issues, support firewalls and cabling, and assist with hardware/software upgrades.

Required: DoD IA training, Security+ CE, and strong communication skills. DoD/medical networks experience preferred; BA/BS or 8+ years with certs accepted.

Qualifications

• DoD 8570.01 compliance required
• Security+ CE certification required
• CCNA or Juniper/Brocade equivalent preferred
• Firewall and VPN experience required
• Strong oral and written communication skills required
• Experience with DoD/medical networks preferred
• Broad knowledge of OSI Layers 1-3 and TCP/IP protocols
• Knowledge of VTP, SMTP, SNMP, DNS and DHCP beneficial

Responsibilities

• Provides daily operational support for LAN core and edge switches across the medical network campus
• Resolves network and routing protocol issues using diagnostic and management tools
• Supports routing/switching equipment, firewalls, and cabling infrastructure
• Plans and supports hardware and software upgrades and resolves related issues
