Job summary

DSM-H Consulting is seeking a LAN Analyst to join the Client Americas team. You will work independently and with colleagues on complex network projects, supporting Client locations across the Americas.

Responsibilities include diagnosing and resolving LAN issues, implementing network changes, and collaborating with business partners and vendors. A four-year degree and 5–7 years of network engineering experience are required, with Cisco expertise and TCP/IP, VLANs, OSPF knowledge emphasized.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve LAN issues and replace defective components.

• Design and implement processes to aid development and support.
• Follow ITSM processes and document changes.
• Collaborate with other teams to plan and execute changes (firewall, VPN, wireless, NAC).

Job description

- As a LAN Analyst for the Client Americas team, you will have the opportunity to work both independently and as part of a team on complex network projects. You will develop your professional network and leadership skills as you support a wide variety of network-related solutions. You will also utilize your technical skillset and business understanding to help solve critical business problems.

- This role will collaborate with the Client LAN team and other technical teams to provide support for all Client locations across the Americas.

Typical task breakdown:

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve LAN issues and replace defective components as needed
• Respond as needed to support requests that relate to LAN development and support
• Provide off-shift support for critical incidents. Team members rotate through an on-call schedule, requiring occasional off-shift and weekend support calls
• Work directly, as needed, with business partners and vendors with integration of infrastructure
• Design and implement processes and process improvements to aid in development and support
• Follow ITSM process and documentation for all changes
• Collaborate with other technical teams as needed to plan and execute changes (i.e., firewall, VPN, wireless, NAC, etc.)
• Advise business partners regarding technical questions/issues in the LAN space

Education & Experience Required:

Years of experience: 5-7 years of progressively responsible roles in the Network Engineering space.

Degree requirement: Computer-related or engineering-related four-year degree (or equivalent work experience which then they need a minimum of 8 years of experience in this capacity)

Required Technical Skills:

(Required)

• LAN implementation and support, knowledge of risk domains, tiered domains, TCP/IP fundamentals, ethernet, QoS, IP subnetting, cabling (copper & fiber), OSPF, VLAN Trunking, VLANs, and switching configuration
• Functional experience with LAN operations and implementation utilizing Cisco switches and familiarity with Cisco equipment
• Ability to work in a team atmosphere and collaborate with others in a positive manner

Other Desirable Qualifications:

• Experience with automation technologies and scripting
• Experience with DNA Center (Catalyst Center)
• Wireless knowledge and experience
• Relevant work experience with medium to large companies
