Job summary

Blue Stream Fiber seeks a Network Engineer to design, implement, and optimize our Jacksonville network infrastructure, supporting Dark and Lit services across the core network. You will work with the Engineering team to ensure security, performance, and reliability while coordinating with vendors and internal stakeholders.

The role requires deep TCP/IP knowledge, experience with WAN/LAN/SD-WAN, and the ability to manage complex capacity planning and documentation.

Qualifications

• Minimum eight years of related telecommunications experience.
• Advanced understanding of fiber and community builds.
• Experience in capacity planning and budgeting for network projects.
• Strong vendor negotiation and contract management skills.
• Proficient in TCP/IP, IPv4/IPv6, DNS, DHCP, VPNs.
• Excellent communication and team collaboration abilities.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate performance and plan capacity improvements.
• Coordinate with internal teams and vendors for budgeting and pricing.
• Design, implement, and maintain data networking systems.
• Review and optimize existing network solutions for security and compatibility.
• Create documentation for new and existing systems and policies.
• Lead capacity planning and performance monitoring activities.
• Prepare and manage departmental budgets and audits.
