The GCC Network Engineer III is a Tier 3 support role responsible for resolving tickets escalated from Tier I and II, coordinating with external vendors and internal technical support, and providing regular status updates to customers. The engineer acts as the subject matter expert on multiple network and security technologies, performs firmware upgrades, network changes, problem management, and provides customer network improvement recommendations.
Essential Functions
- Resolve customer network problems promptly, collaborating with peers as needed.
- Resolve customer security events promptly, collaborating with peers as needed.
- Work effectively with vendors, escalating issues as necessary.
- Work with field service technicians remotely, providing phone direction to resolve issues.
- Escalate and communicate customer issues to higher levels, GCC management, and other internal departments.
- Conduct problem management/root cause analysis as required.
- Conduct change management activities as required.
- Design, configure, implement, and test network changes.
- Design, configure, implement, and test security system changes and policy changes.
- Perform forensic analysis on network/security events.
- Analyze and recommend customer network improvements.
- Review vendor software advisory notifications.
Skills and Responsibilities

Position Type / Expected Hours of Work / Travel
- Required to work evenings and weekends when requested.

Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of Network Operations experience.
- 5+ years of troubleshooting on Cisco vManage systems.
- 5+ years of experience using Cisco vManage systems and FireMon.
- 5+ years of Cisco ASA troubleshooting and management.
- Knowledge of Cisco SD‑WAN Foundations.
- Experience with SD‑WAN.
- 5+ years of troubleshooting WAN/LAN/WLAN infrastructure issues including T1, T1 Multilink, Ethernet Hand‑off, DIA, Broadband, MPLS, BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, VPN, Wireless, etc.
- Ability to pass FISMA‑level background checks.

Desired Qualifications
- Knowledge of Cisco SD‑WAN Foundations.
- Knowledge of ITIL Incident, Problem, and Change Management processes.
