Network Engineer III – Responsibilities

The Network Engineer III will be responsible for the implementation of approved network/video architecture and designs. A Network Engineer III assists in the planning, forecasting, implementation, and identification of resource requirements for network systems of varying complexity; as well as train/mentor emergent Engineers.

As a member of the team, you will develop and implement network/video enhancements while following corporate standards. You will be sought after for recommendations for improvement and assist in staff development efforts.

Experience

• Data network experience – 5+ years
• DOCSIS experience 3+ years (Experience with Arris, Cisco, and/or Casa)
• Data/Video network experience 3+ years (Experience with Cisco and/or Juniper)

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Electrical Engineering, or related field or equivalent work experience

Technical Skills

• Intermediate knowledge of related industry specifications and standards IEEE, ANSI
• Physical Media (Multimode/Singlemode Fiber, UTP, etc.), bridging, switching, routing
• Ethernet and transport technologies and protocols
• Intermediate knowledge in network design, network architecture, protocols, and network topology.
• Intermediate knowledge in DOCSIS technologies and CMTS routers.
• Intermediate knowledge in TCP/IP and the OSI Model.
• Intermediate knowledge in Fiber technologies and OLT systems.
• Intermediate knowledge in supporting remote sites and remote equipment.
• Intermediate knowledge in using ticketing and software tools to support the current operations.
• Intermediate knowledge of basic network devices and basic network appliances.
• Intermediate knowledge of network designing software, such as Visio.
