Job summary

TEKsystems seeks an experienced Network Engineer III for a contract role based in Kalamazoo, MI. The ideal candidate will own enterprise networking operations across LAN/WAN, data centers, and cloud connectivity, while supporting security and automation efforts.

The role demands strong Cisco routing & switching expertise, multi-site experience, and the ability to balance hands-on work with strategic projects. Hybrid schedule and on-call rotation are included.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Provide Level 3 support for enterprise LAN, WAN, wireless, and data center environments.
• Troubleshoot complex network incidents, performance issues, and outages.
• Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
• Participate in maintenance windows and on-call support.
• Support routing and switching technologies including: BGP, EIGRP, VLANs, QoS, MPLS, VXLAN, SD-WAN.
• Configure and maintain connectivity between on-premises infrastructure and cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, Google Cloud).
• Support Cisco ISE and Palo Alto firewall administration.
• Support network automation and scripting to improve operations.

Overview

Our healthcare client is seeking a Network Engineer III to join a small, highly collaborative networking team supporting approximately 70 locations across the enterprise. The team have an environment where engineers are expected to take broad ownership across operations, infrastructure projects, security, cloud connectivity, and network modernization initiatives.

This is an excellent opportunity for a senior‑level Network Engineer who enjoys working in a hands‑on environment, wearing multiple hats, and driving strategic network initiatives while supporting operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

Enterprise Network Operations

• Provide Level 3 support for enterprise LAN, WAN, wireless, and data center environments.
• Troubleshoot complex network incidents, performance issues, and outages.
• Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
• Participate in maintenance windows and on‑call support.
• Support routing and switching technologies including:
• BGP
• EIGRP
• VLANs
• QoS
• MPLS
• VXLAN
• SD‑WAN

Cloud & Hybrid Networking

• Support cloud networking initiatives involving VPNs, cloud connectivity, and hybrid network architectures.
• Configure and maintain connectivity between on‑premises infrastructure and cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud.
• Support secure cloud‑to‑site networking solutions.

Network Security

• Support and help expand the organization's Cisco ISE environment.
• Assist with Palo Alto firewall administration.
• Support network access control, authentication, segmentation, and broader security initiatives.

Monitoring & Automation

• Utilize monitoring and observability tools including SolarWinds, ThousandEyes, and Cisco Catalyst Center.
• Support network automation initiatives using scripting and automation technologies.
• Improve operational visibility and efficiency through automation and reporting.

Required Qualifications

• 6-8 years of enterprise networking experience.
• Strong Cisco networking background.
• Experience supporting large, multi‑site enterprise environments.

Pay And Benefits

The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $65.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job‑related factors.
