Job summary

Leonardo DRS, Germantown, MD, is seeking an Information Technology Engineer II - Network to design, deploy, and maintain the network and IT infrastructure for our engineering, lab, and program environments. You will own network architecture, VLAN segmentation, and Linux-based systems to keep test environments reliable and secure.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree and 2+ years of experience in network engineering, hands-on Linux administration, strong troubleshooting, and clear communication

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field.
• 2+ years of network engineering and IT infrastructure experience.
• Hands-on experience with network administration and Linux systems.
• Knowledge of VLAN segmentation and network security best practices.
• Ability to communicate clearly with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Design, configure, and maintain enterprise and lab network infrastructure.
• Manage VLAN segmentation for lab, program, and enterprise traffic.
• Install and administer Linux servers and workstations.
• Monitor performance and troubleshoot outages.
• Document network architectures and SOPs.
• Provide network/IT support to engineering, test, and program teams.
• Ensure compliance with security practices and audits.
