Job summary

FHLBank Topeka is seeking a seasoned Network Engineer to design, implement, and maintain networks across office, data centers, and cloud environments. You will configure routers, switches, and servers, monitor performance, and ensure security in collaboration with IT security teams.

The role requires a college degree and 5+ years in networking, with Cisco ACI and cloud experience highly valued. This is a hybrid role in the Topeka area with generous benefits and relocation support if applicable.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of networking concepts and protocols.

Job DescriptionResponsible for designing, implementing, maintaining, monitoring, and troubleshooting computer networks for the Bank’s office, data centers, and cloud environments to ensure optimal performance and stable, secure systems.In This Role, You WillPlan and design network architectures, including LANs, WANs, VPNs, and other network types.Configure and install network hardware (like routers, switches, and servers) and software.Monitor network performance to ensure optimal functionality and uptime. Proactively identify and address potential issues.Ensure network security by collaborating with IT Security on firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and other protective measures. Ensure baseline security configurations are implemented and maintained, and vulnerabilities addressed.Diagnose and resolve network issues to minimize downtime and maintain connectivity.Maintain up-to-date documentation of network configurations, processes, and troubleshooting steps.Work with other IT professionals to integrate and optimize systems and assist with system administration tasks.QualificationsEquivalent to a college degree.
