Job summary

Arkansas Children’s Hospital in Little Rock is seeking a Network Engineer II to ensure stability and performance of our voice, data, and wireless networks. You’ll design and deploy LANs/WANs, configure routers, switches, and security, and monitor performance; on-call rotation included.

The ideal candidate holds a CCNA certification with at least 2 years of relevant experience, a high school diploma or GED, and a preferred Bachelor’s degree.

Information Technology Summary:

Monday to Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. — Hybrid schedule based on performance (Training will be fully onsite) — On-call rotation, 1 week every 5 weeks.

Additional Information:

The Network Engineer II ensures the stability and integrity of in-house voice, data, and video and wireless network services. Responsible for planning, designing, and developing local area networks (LANs) and wide area networks (WANs) across the organization. Participates with the installation, monitoring, maintenance, support, and optimization of all network hardware, software, and communication links. Analyzes and resolves network hardware and software problems in a timely and accurate fashion.

The ideal candidate has a Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) certification and at least 2 years of experience utilizing the following skillsets:

• IPv4 format and subnetting
• Route/Switch technology
• OSPF routing protocol

Required Education: High school diploma or GED or equivalent

Recommended Education: Bachelor's degree in a related field of study.

Required Work Experience: High School Diploma/GED and 2 years of relevant experience, or 4 years of experience in lieu of a diploma/GED.

1. Designs and deploys organization LANs, WANs, and wireless networks, including servers, routers, hubs, switches, UPSs, and other hardware.
2. Configures networks to ensure their smooth and reliable operation for fulfilling organization objectives and processes.

4. Oversees new and existing equipment, hardware, and software upgrades.
5. Monitors network performance, troubleshoots problem areas, and provides network performance statistics and reports.

8. Ensures network connectivity of all servers, workstations, VoIP equipment, fax machines, and other network appliances.

10. Participates in managing all network security solutions.
11. Practice network asset management, including maintenance of network component inventory and related documentation and technical specifications information.
