Job summary

Dexian Government Solutions seeks a Network Engineer II to support the DHA GSP TO7 contract at ATAMMC, Fort Belvoir, VA. You will design, implement, and administer the ATAMMC network infrastructure and participate in On-Call rotations. The role requires DoD experience and strong security and policy skills.

Responsibilities include planning, outage coordination, VLAN and VoIP management, and ongoing network maintenance in a DoD environment, with strict adherence to DISA STIGs and DoD instructions.

Qualifications

• Experience designing, implementing, and administering DoD network infrastructure.
• Experience with VLANs, VoIP, and security in DoD environments.
• Ability to implement security measures and maintain DoD STIG compliance.

Responsibilities

• Participate in planning for voice, data, and video networks for MHS infrastructure.
• Develop outage plans and coordinate government approvals.
• Establish network policies, procedures, standards, and security.
• Install, configure, test, and upgrade routers, switches, and wireless APs.
• Manage network accounts, passwords, and device configurations.
• Create, maintain, and manage VLANs.
• Monitor network performance and resolve issues.
• Perform preventive maintenance and document outages.
• Operate VoIP components in compliance with DoD instructions and DISA STIGs.
• Support major network architecture changes, including server migrations.

Job description

Dexian Government Solutions is recruiting for a Network Engineer II to support our contract at the Defense Health Agency (DHA) GSP TO7 in ATAMMC, Fort Belvoir, VA.

Position Overview:

• The Network Engineer II participates in the design, implementation, and day-to-day administration of ATAMMC network infrastructure and participates in the On-Call/Call-Back rotation for Engineering Services.

Job Duties:

• Participate in MHS infrastructure and technical architecture planning for all voice, data, and video networks.
• Develop, coordinate, and gain government approval for all planned and unplanned network outage plans.
• Assist with establishing and implementing network policies, procedures, standards, and security.
• Install, relocate, configure, test, patch, and upgrade all network devices, including routers, switches, and wireless access points.
• Manage the creation and deletion of network accounts, password management, and configuration management of all network devices.
• Create, maintain, and manage Virtual Local Area Networks (VLANs).
• Continuously monitor network performance to identify and resolve issues.
• Perform and document all scheduled preventive maintenance and any unscheduled outages.
• Operate and maintain all VoIP components in strict compliance with DoD instructions and relevant DISA STIGs.
• Support major network architecture changes, including the deployment and migration of servers and other devices.
• Diagnose and configure connectivity for MHS site-specific servers.
• Monitor network performance to ensure reliability and optimal operation; plans for current and future network requirements.
• Participate in On-Call/Call-Back rotation for Engineering Services.

Required Qualifications:

• Four (4) years of progressive experience demonstrating proficiency in network engineering.
• Experience implementing and administering enterprise network devices including routers, switches, and wireless access points.
• Experience with VLAN management, VoIP systems, and network security in DoD environments.
• Experience incorporating security measures into network designs to protect against data breaches and security threats.
• Experience with DISA STIG compliance for network infrastructure.
• Experience with network performance monitoring and preventive maintenance.
• DoD Cyber Workforce Framework (DCWF) proficiency level: Intermediate. Cyber Role Designation: 651 - Enterprise Architect - Intermediate.
• Education Requirements: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Computer Science, Information Technology, Network Engineering, or a related field, OR equivalent years of experience.

Required to Start:

• Clearance Requirements: A Tier 3 (T3) Background Investigation required. All personnel must obtain favorable suitability adjudication prior to commencement of duties.
• Certification Requirements: An IAT II certification required prior to performing contract tasks (DoD 8570.01-M). CompTIA Security+ce, CompTIA CySA+ce.
