The In-N-Out Burger Information Technology team has an excellent opportunity for a Network Engineer I, located in the Irvine, CA office*.

As a Network Engineer I, you will be transitioning from a Network Administrator role to a more specialized position in network engineering. You will assist in maintaining and optimizing the company’s network infrastructure, focusing on more complex tasks and gaining experience in advanced network technologies.

*This role is based full time in office

Key Responsibilities:

Network Infrastructure Management:

Assist in the administration and optimization of WAN, LAN, and wireless networks across all store locations and corporate offices.

Support the configuration and maintenance of Cisco routers, Juniper switches, and Cisco Wi-Fi infrastructure at store locations.

Advanced Troubleshooting:

Provide second-level support for escalated network issues from Network Administrators, focusing on advanced troubleshooting of WAN, LAN, and wireless networks.

Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to SD-WAN (VeloCloud) routing in corporate offices.

Security and Firewall Management:

Assist in managing Palo Alto firewalls, including implementing security policies and responding to incidents.

Support network security initiatives by ensuring all network devices are up-to-date with the latest patches and configurations.

Network Documentation:

Develop and maintain detailed documentation of network configurations, processes, and procedures.

Assist in the design and implementation of network monitoring systems.

Collaboration and Professional Development:

Collaborate closely with Network Administrators and senior engineers, providing guidance on network issues.

Participate in ongoing training to advance your knowledge of network engineering and prepare for progression to Network Engineer II.

Work Schedule and Benefits

Full-time position, Exempt

Office Hours in Irvine, CA: Monday-Friday, 8:00 am-5:00 pm

Department needs will call for occasional overtime

Hourly Pay Range $43.00-$48.25

The above represents the expected Hourly range for this job requisition. Ultimately, in determining your pay, we'll consider your experience and other job-related factors.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Network Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.

2-3 years of experience in network administration or a related role.

Solid understanding of Cisco routers, Juniper switches, and wireless network infrastructure.

Experience with SD-WAN technologies, particularly VeloCloud, is a plus.

Familiarity with network security practices and experience with Palo Alto firewalls.

Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex network issues.

In-N-Out Burger plans to bring its west coast headquarters team back together under one roof by the end of 2029. After maintaining two Southern California office locations for many years, the company will permanently close its Irvine office in 2029 and once again headquarter the company’s western territory solely in Baldwin Park, California, where the company was founded in 1948.

Newly hired Associates in Irvine will be eligible to participate in the group move to Tennessee with relocation assistance or work from our western headquarters in Baldwin Park, CA, upon its opening in 2029.
