Fortinet SME/Network Security/Automation Engineer

Looking for someone with strong Fortinet/Fortigate experience (Fortinet certifications required) with Network automation experience as well as Azure networking experience.

Technical Skills / Experience

As a Network Engineer, you will play a crucial role in managing and optimizing the organization’s IT infrastructure. Your expertise should encompass the following areas:

• Fortigate Technologies: Must have expert knowledge in device configuration, security policies, and application deployment using Fortigate Firewalls, FortiWifi, FortiManager, and FortiAnalyzer, in both physical and virtual environments.
• Network Automation: Experience working with Python scripting or Ansible.
• Cisco Technologies: Configuration and management experience of Cisco switches, including deployment, patching, and configuration management.
• Azure: Strong understanding of Azure landing zones, subscriptions, resource groups, network security groups, HA failover, multi-regional failover, and Azure design concepts for a highly elastic and efficient cloud environment. Must possess a strong understanding of network security in the cloud and be able to recognize dependencies and recommend remediations.
• ServiceNow or relevant CMDB: Experience with change management and incident handling practices, with strong communication skills and understanding of incident priorities and resolution.
• Vulnerability Remediation: Expertise in vulnerability remediation across network configurations and devices in physical and virtual environments.
• Network Monitoring: Experience in proactively identifying network issues and acting on remediation processes, following communication protocols for business and technology.
• Troubleshooting: Proven experience in troubleshooting complex network issues across the OSI stack in both physical and virtual environments.

Requirements and Qualifications

• 3-5 years minimum experience in network implementations, diagramming, code updating, firmware patching, project planning, and managing third-party vendors.
• BS or MS degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience with network monitoring tools.
• Knowledge of network protocols such as BGP, Static Routing, SD-WAN, SASE, OSPF, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and VPN (IPSec/SSL).
• Configuration and maintenance of Fortigate Firewalls, Access Points, and Cisco Switches.
• Exposure to additional firewall and switch vendors/technologies is preferred.
• Cisco certifications (CCNA or higher).
• Fortinet certifications.
• Automation experience with Python scripting or Ansible.
