Job summary

ActioNet seeks a Network Engineer in Silver Spring, MD, to support IT Infrastructure for research teams aboard vessels. You’ll help design and manage WAN/LAN, participate in a Cisco-to-Fortinet migration, and ensure Fortinet security solutions are deployed.

The role is hybrid (minimum three days onsite) with salary up to $140,000 and a path for growth in a dynamic, mission-focused environment. A Secret clearance is preferred and encouraged.

Qualifications

• 4+ years supporting enterprise WAN and LAN environments.
• Experience configuring and troubleshooting network infrastructure.
• Fortinet experience strongly preferred; migration projects.
• Certifications such as ITIL, vendor networking technologies, CompTIA, or similar.
• Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Eligible to obtain and maintain Secret clearance.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and manage WAN infrastructure and related processes.
• Provide production support for network infrastructure including monitoring and troubleshooting.
• Perform second-level problem identification, diagnosis, and resolution for network issues.
• Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot network hardware and software per designs and plans.
• Support transition and modernization, including Cisco-to-Fortinet migrations and Fortinet security solutions.
