Job summary

Meta's Edge & Network Services (ENS) team is seeking skilled network engineers to deploy and support production networks across data centers and CDN globally. The role involves configuring, upgrading, and maintaining complex network infrastructure in collaboration with partner teams, with on-call responsibilities and travel as required.

Ideal candidates hold a technical degree and 6+ years of experience with routing protocols, multi-vendor environments, and strong documentation practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical field or equivalent practical experience.
• 6+ years designing, deploying and operating large-scale networks.
• Experience configuring and troubleshooting routing and switching protocols (BGP, IS-IS, MPLS, RSVP-TE, VRRP).
• Working knowledge of TCP/UDP, DHCP, DNS and IPv4/IPv6.
• Experience in multi-vendor environments with hands-on networking hardware.
• Knowledge of physical infrastructure design including cabling and fiber optics.
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects with deadlines.
• Experience working in a global team with limited supervision.

Summary:

Our team is the execution arm of the Meta network team and is responsible for the deployment and support of all production networks (Edge, Backbone, Optical, and Datacenter) as well as our content delivery network (CDN) across the globe. Required Skills:

Network Engineer, Deployment & Support Responsibilities:

1. Deployment, configuration, and management of all network infrastructure on our data center campus


2. Work with partner teams and vendors to manage day-to-day operations and reliability of the regional network


3. Schedule and perform maintenance including upgrades, migrations, and decommissioning of production networks


4. Create deployment install packages and maintain as-built documentation and asset database for network and computing equipment


5. Establish and implement global best practices and contribute to the design of new scalable network solutions


6. Support the development, testing and integration of new hardware and software platforms into the network


7. Participate in an on-call rotation to support the network infrastructure 24x7


8. 10-30% travel based on project

Minimum Qualifications:

1. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience


2. 6+ years of work experience responsible for designing, deploying and operating large-scale networks


3. Experience configuring and troubleshooting routing and switching protocols (BGP, IS-IS, MPLS, RSVP-TE, VRRP)


4. Working knowledge of network protocols (TCP/UDP, DHCP, DNS) and experience with IPv4 and IPv6


5. Experience working in a multi-vendor environment with hands-on experience with networking hardware


6. Working knowledge of physical infrastructure design including structured cabling and fiber-optic cabling


7. Proven experience managing multiple projects simultaneously and deliver against mission critical deadlines


8. Proven experience working in a global team environment and solving problems with limited supervision

Preferred Qualifications:

1. Working knowledge of 40/100G Ethernet and CWDM, DWDM and optical transport network technologies


2. Experience with field-based work in Data Centers, Colocation Facilities, Internet Exchanges, or Central Offices


3. Working knowledge of data center power and cooling infrastructure and critical facility operational best practices


4. Familiarity with the Linux based systems. Experience with scripting and automation (Bash, Python, Perl)


5. Technical leadership and people management experience


6. Demonstrated ability to integrate AI tools to optimize/redesign workflows and drive measurable impact (e.g., efficiency gains, quality improvements)


7. Experience adhering to and implementing responsible, ethical AI practices (e.g., risk assessment, bias mitigation, quality and accuracy reviews)


8. Demonstrated ongoing AI skill development (e.g., prompt/context engineering, agent orchestration) and staying current with emerging AI technologies

Public Compensation:

$135,000/year to $191,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits
