Job summary

Meta's Edge & Network Services team is seeking a seasoned Network Engineer to design, deploy, and operate expansive data center networks and a global CDN. You will work with cross‑functional teams to ensure reliability and scalability, while implementing best practices across the network stack.

The role requires handling complex routing and switching, multi-vendor environments, and contribution to new AI-enabled workflows. Expect travel and on-call responsibilities as part of the position.

Required Skills:

Minimum Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

1. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience
2. 6+ years of work experience responsible for designing, deploying and operating large-scale networks
3. Experience configuring and troubleshooting routing and switching protocols (BGP, IS-IS, MPLS, RSVP-TE, VRRP)
4. Working knowledge of network protocols (TCP/UDP, DHCP, DNS) and experience with IPv4 and IPv6
5. Experience working in a multi-vendor environment with hands-on experience with networking hardware
6. Working knowledge of physical infrastructure design including structured cabling and fiber-optic cabling
7. Proven experience managing multiple projects simultaneously and deliver against mission critical deadlines
8. Proven experience working in a global team environment and solving problems with limited supervision

1. Working knowledge of 40/100G Ethernet and CWDM, DWDM and optical transport network technologies
2. Experience with field-based work in Data Centers, Colocation Facilities, Internet Exchanges, or Central Offices
3. Working knowledge of data center power and cooling infrastructure and critical facility operational best practices
4. Familiarity with the Linux based systems. Experience with scripting and automation (Bash, Python, Perl)
5. Technical leadership and people management experience
6. Demonstrated ability to integrate AI tools to optimize/redesign workflows and drive measurable impact (e.g., efficiency gains, quality improvements)
7. Experience adhering to and implementing responsible, ethical AI practices (e.g., risk assessment, bias mitigation, quality and accuracy reviews)
8. Demonstrated ongoing AI skill development (e.g., prompt/context engineering, agent orchestration) and staying current with emerging AI technologies

Public Compensation:

$135,000/year to $191,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits
