Job summary

SAIC is seeking a Network Administrator to manage the enterprise network architecture, switching, routing and security for the Army Research Laboratory in Adelphi, MD. This on-site role focuses on performance, reliability and policy compliance.

Responsibilities include monitoring, implementing security procedures, configuring routers, switches, firewalls, VPNs, and training users while coordinating with senior staff.

Qualifications

• Understanding of enterprise network architecture, Layer 2/3 switching, routing protocols, and network security standards.
• Install, configure, maintain, monitor, and secure network infrastructure per DoD/ARL IT policies.
• Experience with IP-based networks, IPv4/IPv6, and encryption devices.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and troubleshoot network hardware/software (switches, routers, firewalls, APs, encryption devices).

Job description

SAIC is seeking a Network Administrator with an understanding of enterprise network architecture, Layer 2/3 switching, routing protocols, and network security standards. You will be responsible for the installation, configuration, maintenance, performance, and security of the network infrastructure in accordance with DoD and ARL IT policies at the Army Research Laboratory in Adelphi, MD. Work is performed on site.

Job Responsibilities:

• Monitor and manage network performance, availability, and security.
• Implement and enforce network security procedures and best practices to comply with DoD regulations.
• Install, maintain, and troubleshoot network-related software and hardware systems, including Layer 2/3 switches, routers, firewalls, wireless access points, and encryption devices.
• Configure and troubleshoot routing protocols such as OSPF and BGP.
• Work with IP-based networking environments, including IPv4/IPv6 and IPSec VPNs.
• Maintain knowledge of and apply standards related to 802.1x, 802.11, MAC bridging, traffic management, and data encryption.
• Evaluate, develop, and sustain telecommunications infrastructure and ensure conformance with organizational IT policies and objectives.
• Train users on basic network operations and elevate advanced issues to senior personnel when necessary.
