Job summary

SAIC is seeking a Network Administrator to maintain enterprise network architecture and security at Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD. On-site role focused on Layer 2/3 switching, routing, and DoD policy adherence.

Responsibilities include monitoring performance, configuring Cisco devices, and enforcing security standards while supporting IPv4/IPv6 and IPSec VPNs. Requires a Bachelor's degree and 5 years of related experience, DoD clearance, and relevant certifications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Networking, or related field with 5 years of experience.
• Hands-on Cisco network administration experience is required.
• Experience in an IT enterprise network engineering field.
• Leadership in managing complex DoD networks.
• Knowledge of routing protocols (OSPF, BGP) and security standards (802.1X, 802.11).
• Clearance: US Citizen with active DoD Secret, willingness for Top Secret.
• Certifications: IAT Level II or higher; CompTIA Network+ or CCNA.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and manage network performance, availability, and security.
• Implement and enforce DoD-compliant network security procedures.
• Install, maintain, and troubleshoot Cisco routers, switches, and firewalls.
• Configure and troubleshoot routing protocols (OSPF, BGP).
• Support IPv4/IPv6 and IPSec VPNs in IP-based networks.
• Maintain standards for 802.1x, 802.11, MAC bridging, and data encryption.
• Train users on basic network operations and escalate advanced issues.
