Job summary

MEMX is seeking a Network Engineer to design, implement, and maintain its low latency trading infrastructure. The role operates on a 4 PM–1 AM ET shift, Monday to Friday, with responsibilities spanning network design, configuration, incident response, and customer turn-ups.

Applicants should have 5+ years in distributed systems networking, knowledge of BGP/NAT, scripting with Python/Ansible, and familiarity with network OS like EOS/IOS/PanOS. MEMX offers comprehensive benefits and WFH options.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience with low latency, highly available distributed systems and the network architectures needed to run them.
  • Understanding of layer2 and layer3 network protocols e.g. IGMP, MLAG, ARP, BGP, NAT, PIM.
  • Understanding of IP multicast routing e.g. PIM-SM, PIM-Bidir.
  • Experience with network operating systems (EOS, IOS, PanOS).
  • Understanding of timing protocols NTP, PTP.
  • Understanding of various optical fiber types and transceivers.
  • Scripting experience (Python, Ansible) preferred.
  • Ability to analyze packet captures using tools like Wireshark, tcpdump.
  • Mac, Linux familiarity preferred.
  • Experience with firewalld design and configuration.

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement and support the low latency exchange network environment.
  • Configure enterprise and production network devices with Ansible and Python as required.
  • Respond to network alerts and error logs.
  • Respond to network incidents, remediate and perform RCA.
  • Perform new customer connection turn-ups.
  • Work on customer tickets such as add/mod IP prefixes and troubleshoot connectivity.
  • Perform new product analysis and validation.
  • Coordinate with Security and business teams to engineer secure end user solutions.
  • Collaborate with Data Center and Circuit providers to improve efficiency and performance.

Job description

MEMX is searching for a Network Engineer to support the design, implementation and maintenance of its low latency trading infrastructure for second shift 4 PM - 1 AM ET weekdays Monday through Friday.

Shift time for this role will be: 4 PM - 1 AM ET

MEMX currently has a U.S. presence in these states:California, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Kansas, Maine, Maryland, Michigan, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, & Utah.

Pay Range: $130,000 to $160,000
