Job summary

Seattle University is seeking a Network Engineer 2 to own the performance and reliability of enterprise Wi‑Fi across two campuses. You will manage wired and wireless infrastructure, including Juniper Mist, Cisco IOS, and multi‑vendor equipment, ensuring high availability and user experience.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in IT or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 4+ years supporting enterprise Wi‑Fi environments with 200+ access points.
  • 2+ years supporting LAN environments with 100+ managed switches and upgrades.
  • Proficient with Juniper Mist, Cisco IOS, VLANs, STP, PoE, and IPv4/IPv6.
  • Experience with monitoring tools (SolarWinds) and Jira ticketing.

Responsibilities

  • Own the performance, reliability, and continuous improvement of enterprise Wi‑Fi services across two campuses.
  • Administer wired network infrastructure, including Juniper and Cisco switching.
  • Diagnose and resolve complex wired and wireless connectivity issues across devices.
  • Manage RADIUS, DNS, DHCP, and IPAM; maintain network monitoring and config management.
  • Plan upgrades, patching, lifecycle maintenance, and after-hours incident response.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and contribute to documentation and best practices.
