THE ROLE

As a Network Engineer at Nordic, you will be responsible for managing and optimizing our network infrastructure, with a specific focus on Cisco Meraki and Palo Alto Firewalls. Your role will involve designing, implementing, and maintaining network solutions to support our business operations and ensure high availability, security, and performance.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

The Nordic Engineer’s responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

• Design and Implementation: Develop and deploy network solutions using Cisco Meraki and Palo Alto Firewalls to meet business requirements.
• Network Management: Monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot network systems to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
• Security: Implement and manage security protocols and policies to protect network integrity and data.
• Documentation: Create and maintain comprehensive network documentation, including configurations, processes, and procedures.
• Collaboration: Work closely with IT teams and other departments to support network-related projects and initiatives.
• Continuous Improvement: Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies to continuously improve network infrastructure.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

• Expert knowledge of Palo Alto firewalls and Cisco Meraki platforms.
• Proficient in SD-WAN products, including configuration, management, and troubleshooting.
• Experience with network security technologies, such as IPS, IDS, VPN, DLP, and NAC
• Experience with network monitoring and management tools, such as SolarWinds, Splunk, and Cisco DNA Center
• Certifications such as CCNP, PCNSE, or VCP-NV are preferred
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field required.
• 5+ years of experience in Network Engineer roles.
• Proven experience securing on one or more major cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Strong understanding of security principles and best practices (e.g., zero trust, least privilege).
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.

• Position is remote
• Ability to travel up to 10% of the time
