Job description

We're a craft-obsessed technology shop in AZ hunting for a Network Engineer who'd rather delete code than add it. The shape of it is simple — bring 6 years and Desktop Support, take home $100,000 - $133,000, and grow into whatever Houston Methodist builds next.

Key Responsibilities

• Catch the Desktop Support race conditions that only surface under Surprise peak traffic
• Tune database queries and schemas for high-throughput Houston Methodist workloads
• Decode the undocumented DNS service nobody at Houston Methodist remembers writing
• Drive the DNS incident postmortem that stops the Surprise outage from recurring
• Lead the Nagios migration that finally retires Houston Methodist's ruthlessly-focused legacy stack
• Negotiate Desktop Support tradeoffs with product when Houston Methodist timelines and reality collide

What You'll Bring

• Comfort steering technology conversations toward a decision
• Hands-on proficiency with Windows Server, ideally paired with Nagios
• Proven Desktop Support results, ideally seasoned in Surprise, AZ
• Proven track record delivering results as a senior Network Engineer
• Written communication clear enough to survive a forwarded email chain
• Comfort being accountable for a remote-friendly outcome in a full-time role
• The discipline to document while it's fresh, not after it's forgotten

Houston Methodist keeps technology systems running for clients who never think about them, which is the metrics-driven Surprise, AZ point. Curiosity outranks credentials on this technology team, so bring questions, not just answers.

Take $100,000 - $133,000, add a mentor invested in your rise, layer on benefits and remote options, and that is the Houston Methodist offer in one breath.
