Job summary

Nightwing is seeking an experienced field network engineer to install, configure, and troubleshoot data networks at CONUS and OCONUS locations. You will work with routers, switches, NGFWs, security appliances, and related devices, collaborating to develop distributed architectures and network diagrams.

The role requires Cisco device proficiency, travel up to 10% annually, and the ability to present clear reports.

Qualifications

• TS/SCI with polygraph is required.
• Experience installing, configuring and troubleshooting Cisco data networks and devices.
• Cisco IOS, IOS XE, IOS XR, NX-OS, FTD, ASA, FMC familiarity.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word.
• Experience using diagram tools like Microsoft Visio.
• Willingness to travel to CONUS and OCONUS locations 10% of the year.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and troubleshoot Cisco data networks and devices.
• Collaborate to develop and deploy distributed network architectures.
• Create network diagrams and rack elevations; advise on hardware/software.
• Implement network monitoring; propose hardware/software solutions.
• Assist in design and deployment of new networks and modernization of existing ones.
• Develop and occasionally present well-written reports.

Nightwing is seeking an experienced field network engineer to install, configure, and troubleshoot data networks. Tasks include configuring and installing routers, switches, next generation firewalls (NGFW), security appliances, cabling, and other network devices at CONUS and OCONUS locations. The engineer will collaborate with team members to develop and deploy distributed network architectures, create network diagrams and rack elevations, recommend hardware and software solutions, and implement network monitoring. The engineer will assist the design and deployment of new distributed networks and modernization of existing networks. The engineer must be skilled in configuring and deploying Cisco networking equipment.

The engineer will be expected to work alone or with small teams, interacting directly with installers and end users in a fast-paced dynamic environment. Flexibility is essential and the engineer must be willing to work on a wide variety of IT tasks, either leveraging experience or learning new technologies quickly. The engineer will develop and occasionally present well-written reports.

We are seeking someone for an initial short-term period, with the possibility of transitioning into a permanent role.

Required Skills

Salary & Benefits

The salary associated with this position ($99,000-$206,000) is commensurate with the selected candidate’s qualifications, years of relevant experience, and demonstrated level of expertise. Compensation will be determined based on these factors to ensure alignment with skills, responsibilities, and market standards.
