Job summary

Capgemini is seeking an on‑call network engineer to support high priority, production‑impacting issues in Salt Lake City. The role involves troubleshooting core routing protocols (BGP, EIGRP, OSPF) and MPLS networks, analyzing packet captures, and driving rapid resolutions.

The candidate will troubleshoot L3 private MPLS WAN topologies, coordinate with data center teams and vendors, and monitor incidents with SNMP tools to ensure 24/7 network stability.

Qualifications

• Experience providing on‑call network troubleshooting and production‑impacting incident response.
• Strong knowledge of core routing protocols (BGP, EIGRP, OSPF); MPLS and WAN topologies.
• Experience analyzing packet captures and driving resolution for complex issues.
• Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools (e.g., SNMP based systems) and network performance dashboards.

Responsibilities

• Provide on-call support for high priority/production impacting issues.
• Troubleshoot and configure network devices with BGP, EIGRP, MPLS, OSPF; analyze traffic to drive resolution.

Job description

Provide on call support for Network troubleshooting on high priority/production Impacting issues

• Troubleshoot and configure network devices with protocols like BGP, EIGRP, MPLS, OSPF. Perform network traffic discovery by analyzing packet capture and drive it to resolution
• Analyze and troubleshoot L3 private IP MPLS carrier network via BGP peering as well as sophisticated private BGP WAN topology including WAN CE routers, configurations, QoS policies and ensure stability of the network 24/7
• Troubleshoot network systems including but not limited to routers, switches, firewalls, access points, load balancers and proxies
• Working on different networking tools like Splunk, HPNA, Forward Tool, Netdisco, Pulse, Synapse, Cyrus, Aruba Mobility Master to analyze logs , config, traffic utilization and to troubleshoot different network related issues
• Troubleshoot network systems including but not limited to routers, switches, firewalls, access points, load balancers and proxies
• Working with Datacenter technicians to fix hardware issues by troubleshooting or changing faulty ports/ cables/ modules/ devices. Performing live troubleshooting with different vendors to detect and fix distinct devices related issues
• Monitor alerts on TSN Workstation and creating incident response including coordination with management team to ensure proper resolution of the ticket
• Experience with SNMP monitoring tools such as EMC SMARTS
• knowledge of networking technologies, topologies, and protocols. (TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF & RIP, SNMP, Multicast, VSS, STP, HSRP, Carrier Circuits, WAN switching).
