Job summary

CDW is seeking a Jr Network Engineer to join the Enterprise Technology and Operations team in Utah. You will build enterprise networking experience while supporting reliable, secure network operations.

You will monitor health, troubleshoot Tier 1/2 LAN/WAN, assist with deployments, maintain diagrams and CMDB records, and collaborate with IT teams to implement and test new network services. This role is ideal for motivated engineers early in their career looking to grow in a enterprise

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS/IT/Networking or equivalent experience.
• 1–3 years in network administration or ops with a networking focus.
• Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, subnets, VLANs.
• Experience with Cisco/Arista switches/routers/firewalls.

Responsibilities

• Monitor enterprise network health, performance metrics, and alerts; identify and resolve basic incidents.
• Troubleshoot Tier 1/2 LAN/WAN connectivity, routing, switching, and related network services.
• Assist with provisioning, racking, cabling, testing, and deployment of switches, routers, access points, and peripherals.
• Assist with planned maintenance, hardware refreshes, and software or firmware patching under change-management processes.
• Maintain network diagrams, SOPs, procedural documentation, hardware inventory, and CMDB records.
• Partner with IT and infrastructure teams on implementations, testing, and site deployments.
• Build proficiency in enterprise networking, automation concepts, and industry best practices.

• Knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, subnets, VLANs, and basic routing and switching.
• Familiarity with enterprise networking hardware such as Cisco or Arista switches, routers, and firewalls.
• Methodical troubleshooting skills and clear written and verbal communication.
• Motivation to learn, take ownership, and grow within enterprise IT.

Preferred Qualifications

• Active CCNA certification or actively pursuing/on track for CCNA certification.
• Familiarity with SolarWinds, ThousandEyes, Wireshark, or ServiceNow.
• Exposure to Python, Bash, Ansible, or basic network automation concepts.
