Carper Consulting is seeking a Network Engineer to install, configure and support the network across client branch locations and data centers in the Orlando, FL area. You will work hands-on with Aruba switches, Juniper routers and Lumen Versa SASE appliances, coordinating installs and upgrades.

The role emphasizes VLAN configuration, firewall management, VoIP/QoS support and on-site troubleshooting. A 3–5 year background in network engineering and strong vendor coordination skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure and maintain Aruba switches, Juniper routers, switches and firewalls.
• Coordinate Versa SASE appliance installs with Lumen and on-site techs.
• Configure and manage VLANs, trunking, routing and inter-VLAN routing.
• Configure and maintain firewall rules and security policies.
• Troubleshoot outages end-to-end using CLI, ping, traceroute and monitoring data.
• Open and manage carrier repair tickets through to resolution.
• Keep network diagrams, IP addressing and device inventory up to date.
• Enforce cabling and labeling standards for on-site techs.
• Plan firmware upgrades and changes via change management.
• Support VoIP and contact center networks (QoS, Webex).
• Participate in on-call rotation for after-hours outages.

Carper Consulting is seeking a Network Engineer to install, configure and support the network across a client's branch locations and data centers. The role works hands-on with Aruba and Juniper equipment and Lumen Versa SASE installs.

Key responsibilities

• Install, configure and maintain Aruba switches (including the 2930 series) and Juniper routers, switches and firewalls.
• Coordinate and complete Lumen Versa SASE appliance installs, cutovers and turn-ups with Lumen and on-site technicians.
• Configure and manage VLANs, trunking, routing and access control across branch and data center networks.
• Configure and maintain firewall rules and security policies.
• Troubleshoot outages and performance issues end to end, from the circuit to the switch port, using CLI tools, ping, traceroute and monitoring data.
• Open and manage carrier repair tickets (for example, in Lumen Connect) and follow them through to resolution.
• Keep network documentation current: diagrams, IP addressing, device inventory, demarc locations and circuit IDs.
• Set and enforce cabling and labeling standards for on-site technicians.
• Plan and carry out firmware upgrades and configuration changes through the change management process.
• Support the voice and contact center network (VoIP, QoS, Webex) and help investigate call quality issues.
• Take part in an on-call rotation for after-hours outages.

Required qualifications

• Strong networking fundamentals: TCP/IP, subnetting, DNS, DHCP and ARP.
• Hands-on experience with routing (static, OSPF and/or BGP) and Layer 2 switching.
• VLAN configuration, including trunking, tagging and inter-VLAN routing.
• Firewall configuration and troubleshooting: rules, NAT and VPN.
• Experience with Juniper equipment (Junos).
• Experience installing or supporting Lumen Versa SASE / SD-WAN appliances.
• Comfortable working in the command line and reading switch output (interfaces, ARP and MAC tables, routes).
• Clear communication with carriers, vendors, field technicians and non-technical staff.
• 3-5 years of network engineering or administration experience.

Preferred qualifications

• Experience with Aruba switches, especially the 2930 series and AOS-S.
• Experience with Aruba ClearPass or other network access control.
• Experience supporting VoIP and contact center networks (QoS, Webex).
• Familiarity with Azure networking (VNets, NSGs, ExpressRoute).
• Monitoring tools such as ThousandEyes.
• Certifications such as CCNA, Aruba ACSA / ACSP, Juniper JNCIA / JNCIS, or CompTIA Network+.
• Experience in healthcare or another regulated industry (HIPAA).
