The Network Engineer will design, implement, secure, and maintain network infrastructures supporting SunState Medical’s operations across Florida.
This role partners closely with IT teams, practice managers, and external vendors to ensure reliable connectivity, safeguard sensitive healthcare information, and support major IT projects and hardware lifecycle upgrades.
The ideal candidate has strong hands‑on network engineering experience, excellent troubleshooting skills, and a commitment to maintaining high‑availability systems in a healthcare environment.
Design and implement secure, scalable network architectures that support clinical and operational needs.
Configure and deploy network hardware including routers, switches, access points, and firewalls.
Assist with project execution across SMS practices and the Orlando datacenter.
Implement and maintain network security controls aligned with healthcare regulations such as HIPAA and HITRUST.
Monitor and analyze network traffic to identify anomalies, performance bottlenecks, and potential security threats.
Optimize network configurations and protocols to ensure reliable and efficient data transmission.
Diagnose and resolve network issues, collaborating with internal teams and external vendors as needed.
Conduct root cause analysis for incidents and recommend preventive measures.
Maintain accurate documentation of network diagrams, configurations, and procedures.
Plan and execute upgrades, patches, firmware updates, and maintenance with minimal disruption to clinical operations.
Provide mentorship and share best practices within the team.
Perform additional duties as needed to support the organization’s mission and initiatives.
