Job summary

Lentech Inc. is seeking a network-focused professional to maintain and sustain existing networks, troubleshoot issues, and monitor for alarms. The role requires active TS.SCI with FSP and IAT II baseline certification, plus two years of related experience.

You will work with WAN technologies and various network devices, escalating issues when needed and coordinating with users and vendors to ensure continuity and performance.

Qualifications

• Active TS.SCI w FSP through MD is required.
• IAT level II baseline certification per DoD 8570.01-M is required.
• Two years of experience in programs/contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity is required.
• Experience installing/configuring network devices (firewalls, switches, routers, cabling; Cisco/Brocade/Juniper) is a plus.
• Experience supporting WAN technologies (SONET OC3/OC48/OC192, DS3, T1).
• Experience with Taclanes/KG-175, MPLS, BGP, VPNs.

Responsibilities

• Maintains and sustains existing networks; identifies and corrects issues.
• Resolves routine network problems using analyzers, WAN test equipment, and simulators.
• Monitors networks for alarms, activates scripts when issues surface, assesses severity, and initiates resolution.
• Troubleshoots problems using scripts and standard procedures; escalates as needed.
• Documents results of resolved issues and communicates actions taken to stakeholders.
• Performs scheduled maintenance and escalates issues when necessary.
• Activates/deactivates network lines per schedule.
• Performs first- and second-level problem determination (help desk first).
• Interfaces with users and/or network vendors.

Job description

Responsibilities :

• Performs maintenance, sustainment of existing networks, and identification/correction of issues.


• Resolve routine network problems; operate network analyzers, WAN test equipment, and network simulators


• Monitors data or voice system networks for various messages, alarms, or issues. Activates scripts as alarms occur or issues surface. Confirms accuracy of messages, alarms or issues and/or determines severity of problem, issue or alarm. Initiates resolution as appropriate.


• Troubleshoots problems using scripts and standard, routine procedures; escalates as appropriate. Researches issues to determine if problem may be resolved using predefined procedures.


• Resolves basic issues; documents the results. Communicates occurrence of alarms or issues and resulting actions taken to resolve or elevate problem.


• Executes scheduled maintenance routines in accordance with standard procedures. Identifies issues or problems and resolves as appropriate; escalates when necessary


• Activates/deactivates network lines according to established schedules.


• Performs first- and/or second-level problem determination (first level is help desk).


• Interfaces with users and/or network vendors.

Requirements

• Active and current TS.SCI w FSP through MD


• IAT level II baseline certification as defined by DoD 8570.01-M is required.


• Two (2) YOE in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity are required.


• Experience with installation and configuration of any levels of network devices, such as firewalls, switches, routers, cabling, Cisco, Brocade, or Juniper devices is a plus.


• Experience supporting WAN technologies such as SONET (OC3, OC48, OC192), DS3, T1, etc.


• Experience with Taclanes/KG-175, etc.


• Experience with MPLS, BGP, VPNs, etc.

Education :

• Associate’s degree in engineering technology from an accredited college is required.


• Two (2) years of additional network engineering experience may be substituted for an Associate’s degree.

Preferred :

• CompTIA Network+, CCENT, CCNA, CCNP, CCIE, or equivalent

Salary range:

$70,983.00 $75,807.00
