Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Network Provisioning Engineer to support large-scale hyperscale data center network deployments. The ideal candidate will have hands‑on experience provisioning network devices, configuring routing and switching infrastructure, activating network circuits, and troubleshooting connectivity issues across complex data center environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Provision fabric switches, backbone routers, out‑of‑band (OOB) devices, and network circuits for new rack deployments.
- Execute network provisioning workflows for AI compute racks, including High Power Rack (HPRv3) deployments.
- Configure and validate network devices using client‑specific provisioning tools and workflows.
- Provision circuits for peering, backbone, and intra‑data‑center connectivity.
- Support network software updates, upgrades, and Passive Optical Network (PON) OLT provisioning.
- Transition provisioned equipment into production through activation and undrain procedures.
- Perform production readiness checks, logical validation, and physical quality audits.
- Conduct circuit QA/QC, loopback testing, and post‑provisioning performance validation.
- Troubleshoot router and switch uplink failures, provisioning issues, and circuit‑level connectivity problems.
- Identify configuration, design, and Bill of Materials (BOM) discrepancies and coordinate remediation.
- Maintain deployment documentation, playbooks, runbooks, and as‑built configuration records.
- Track deployment progress, document blockers, and coordinate with Network Operations, field technicians, and engineering teams.
Required Skills
- Strong understanding of BGP, IS‑IS, and MPLS routing protocols.
- Hands‑on experience with Juniper JunOS, Arista EOS, Cisco IOS‑XR, or similar network platforms.
- Knowledge of data center networking, Clos/spine‑leaf architecture, fabric networks, and Top‑of‑Rack (ToR) switching.
- Experience with network provisioning, device configuration, circuit activation, and troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with DWDM, optical networking, 800G optics, and transponder provisioning.
- Basic Python scripting and network automation knowledge.
- Experience with network management systems, ticketing tools, and deployment dashboards.
- Understanding of OSI Layers 1–4 and physical data center infrastructure.
- Strong documentation, communication, problem‑solving, and escalation skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in hyperscale data center environments and deployments involving 100+ network devices.
- Familiarity with Meta FBOSS or client‑specific network provisioning tools.
- Experience with Ciena or Infinera optical platforms.
- Familiarity with DCIM tools, power and cooling constraints, and physical infrastructure.
