Network Engineer – Auria (ONSITE, Camp Pendleton, CA)
Position is contingent; requires an active Secret security clearance. This role supports the Marine Corps Tactical Systems Support Activity (MCTSSA) by providing Data Management and Cybersecurity services for the testing, engineering, integration, and sustainment of Marine Corps C5ISR programs.
Responsibilities
- Plan for new initiatives and expand existing network infrastructure.
- Understand network diversity and innovate modernization in a secure fashion.
- Provide solutions for traffic congestion, infrastructure upgrades, and routine troubleshooting.
- Develop documentation and how-to guides for networks that incorporate various C5ISR systems.
- Deploy, operate, maintain, and troubleshoot network hardware or virtual network infrastructure such as routers, switches, and network monitoring devices.
- Integrate multiple network transport systems (USMC C4) to support wide‑area network connectivity (satellite, radio frequency, troposcatter, line‑of‑sight, tactical fiber optic cabling).
- Document solutions, blueprints, and diagrams for network‑related issues and innovations.
- Install hardware or software, create backups, and monitor system performance.
- Deploy, configure, maintain, update, and troubleshoot virtual infrastructure environments and network administrator workstations.
- Deploy, configure, maintain, update, and troubleshoot Network Services (Domain Controllers, DNS, Mail/Exchange, etc.).
- Design, deploy, and maintain Wi‑Fi networks and other wireless technologies for tactical deployments.
- Provide expertise on Software‑Defined Networks (SD‑WAN, wireless networking, network access control, segmentation, secure campus solutions).
- Perform cybersecurity hardening and security monitoring on network infrastructures (STIGs, patching, ACAS scanning).
- Manage security configurations within the network based on operational requirements.
Qualifications
- Advanced network training and at least 4 years of demonstrated network engineering experience.
- CompTIA Security+ or equivalent DOD IAT Level 2 security certification.
- Experience with TCP/IP analysis and troubleshooting using a packet analyzer.
- Certified Cisco Certified Network Associate.
- Experience with system administration on MS Windows or Linux.
- Experience with VMware virtualization technologies.
Preferred Qualifications
- Wireshark Certified Network Analyst or RCPE Professional Packet Analyzer Plus.
- Cisco Certified Networking Professional or Cisco Certified Design Professional (Route/Switch).
- VMware Certified Associate or Specialty.
- Certification in a network operating system (e.g., MS Windows Server, Linux).
- SolarWinds Server and Application Monitor Certified Professional.
- Experience with scripting languages (Perl, PowerShell, Linux Shell, etc.).
- Experience with DoD tactical wide‑area networks using radio frequency and satellite transmission.
- Experience with instrumentation, collection, and data management of In‑Band/Out‑of‑Band networks for data collection & analysis services.
- Experience with design and implementation of modeling and simulation test tools.
Compensation
Base salary range: $110,000 – $115,000.
