Transaction Network Services (TNS) seeks a skilled Network Engineer to support real-time trading and market data connectivity. The ideal candidate has 3+ years of experience with IP networks, knowledge of Cisco, Juniper, and Arista platforms, and the ability to troubleshoot Layer-2 and Layer-3 services. The compensation ranges from $90,000 to $100,000 annually, with a benefits package that includes health coverage, paid leave, and a 401K plan.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience supporting global IP networks.

• Strong Layer-2 knowledge including VLANs, trunking, STP, and LACP.
• Strong Layer-3 fundamentals, especially BGP basics, OSPF, and IS-IS concepts.

• Configure and troubleshoot Layer-2 and Layer-3 network services.

Overview

Transaction Network Services (TNS) provides mission‑critical connectivity solutions to global financial markets, enabling firms to access exchanges, market data, and counterparties with high availability and operational excellence.

We are seeking a Network Engineer to join our Financial Markets Network Engineering team. This role supports real‑time trading and market data connectivity across highly available global networks. The position provides strong exposure to routing, switching, multicast, automation, and packet‑level troubleshooting in production trading environments.

Responsibilities

• Support add/move/change (MAC) activities across production financial‑markets networks
• Configure and troubleshoot Layer‑2 and Layer‑3 network services
• Assist with BGP, OSPF, and IS‑IS routing changes and troubleshooting
• Support NAT configuration and fault isolation (static and dynamic NAT)
• Assist with IP multicast (IGMP, PIM) used for market data distribution
• Perform packet capture and traffic analysis (tcpdump, Wireshark or equivalent)
• Assist with Layer‑1 troubleshooting including physical connectivity and latency‑sensitive paths
• Follow disciplined change, documentation, and operational processes
• Work with senior engineers on automation‑enabled configuration and validation

NETDEVOPS & AUTOMATION

• Exposure to network–as‑code practices using structured data (JSON/YAML)
• Assist with templated configuration and automation workflows (e.g., Jinja2, Ansible)
• Follow Git‑based version control and peer‑review workflows for network changes

Compensation & Benefits

For this role, the estimated annual compensation range is $90,000–$100,000. TNS offers a competitive benefit package including medical and dental coverage, life insurance, paid holidays and vacations, and a 401K plan with company match.

• NAT fundamentals and troubleshooting experience
• Multicast fundamentals (IGMP, PIM)
• Packet capture and analysis skills
• Strong written and verbal communication skills

Certifications

• CCNA or CCNP
• NCIA or JNCIP
