Job summary

Laitram L.L.C. Information Technology Services Department has an opening for a Network Engineer, reporting to the IT Design & Delivery Manager.

The role centers on the design, implementation, and escalated support of our Global LAN/WAN environment, with an emphasis on adapting networks for remote work and the proliferation of internet-connected devices across global facilities. Qualifications

• BS in Computer Science, MIS or related field or 7+ years of related work experience.
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in an infrastructure environment.
• Experience scoping and sequencing IT related projects.
• Self-managed; ability to work well independently and in a global team environment.
• Ability to multi-task and prioritize assigned work according to business need and priorities.
• Strong analytical skills and the ability to perform root cause analysis.
• Excellent written and verbal skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement and provide 3rd level support for various global systems, including Global MPLS Network, Global Routing Protocols (EIGRP, BGP, OSPF), Cloud Networking (AWS, Azure, Oracle).
• Cisco based LAN/WLAN/WAN environment management and Site-to-Site VPN/Remote access VPN.
• Collaborate with peers on the Network team and as a member of the larger Infrastructure team.
• Participate in projects intended to continually optimize our Network Infrastructure.
• Identify opportunities and recommend solutions for improving service efficiency and effectiveness with a focus on business use-cases.
• Maintain effective communication with business-users and team members around design decisions, and implementation statuses and timelines.
• Author technical installation, configuration, and support documentation.
• Perform planned system changes and upgrades with minimal impact to business operations which may require after hours or weekend work.
• Up to 10% travel for project executions.
