Network Engineer role at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center. Responsible for the engineering, build, installation/configuration, operation, and maintenance of network and related monitoring systems to ensure stability, reliability, and acceptable performance. This includes the design and support of routing protocols such as BGP, EIGRP, and OSPF to ensure efficient and resilient network communication across the Medical Center's infrastructure. Provides functional and empirical analysis related to the planning, design, installation, and implementation of the network infrastructure, including advanced technologies such as MPLS for traffic engineering and EVPN and VXLAN for scalable data center and campus network segmentation. Plans and develops the detailed engineering, design, and implementation of the Medical Center's network environment, incorporating modern overlay and underlay architectures to support high availability and performance. Plans and performs upgrades of network systems hardware and support systems in accordance with ITIL best practices.
