Job summary

Apogee seeks a Network Administrator to support government-led sustainment and capability upgrades for Space Virtual Labs Network systems. The role covers planning, design, testing, integration, and operations of networked ITW/AA C2 systems across the mission environment, onsite at Peterson SFB in Colorado Springs.

Citizenship and security clearances are required, with extensive DoD experience preferred. Onsite position with travel up to 20%. Salary range USD 80,000–110,000 per year.

Qualifications

• Citizenship: Must be a U.S. Citizen
• Clearance: A minimum active Secret clearance with the ability to obtain a Top Secret security clearance
• Education: High School Diploma
• Years' experience: 15 years of directly related experience with proper certifications, 8 of which must be in the DoD
• Additional experience: Have the advanced knowledge, experience, and demonstrated ability to perform tasks related to the technical/professional discipline as a senior Network Administrator
• Preferred Qualifications: Active Top Secret clearance; Bachelor's Degree or higher; 12+ years of DoD experience or 10 years with Master's degree; Agile/PMO familiarity

Responsibilities

• Conduct reviews of the program portfolio to evaluate and/or recommend alternative plans, improve systems engineering programs/processes, manage/sustain the program technical baseline, and design/perform system-level tests to assure that subsystems and system performance are achieved in accordance with approved specifications
• Prepare technical documents which define, specify, and recommend system/subsystem characteristics. Prepare management reports and conduct technical presentations for planning, implementation, and corrective action using application of engineering economy principles
• Perform validation of systems, including development of criteria and procedures. Analyze and/or evaluate results of major engineering systems with a concentration on end-to-end communications from sensor/source through C2 node(s) to end users
• Provide system engineering, technical support, and technical training to support programs/initiatives including, but not limited to, acquisition, development, integration, sustainment, continued evolution, deployment/fielding and installation, and operations oversight
• Install, test, maintain, and upgrade network operating systems software; ensure cybersecurity policies are applied across network services
• Oversee and guide the efforts of junior and mid-level network administrators
• Assist Agile Product Owner tasks and responsibilities as required

Overview

Apogee has an exciting new opportunity for a Network Administrator to join the team. The technical expert filling this position will be a trusted advisor and consultant to the government supporting government-led ongoing and future sustainment, modification, and capability upgrade efforts across the Space Virtual Labs Network contract supporting the Strategic Warning and Surveillance Systems (SW&SS) division. A key focus for this position is the planning, analysis, design, development, testing, quality assurance, configuration, installation, implementation, and integration of networks supporting these systems. This position will also support broader systems engineering activities associated with these systems.

This is a full-time opportunity located at Peterson SFB, CO

Responsibilities

• Advise and ensure high-quality work that involves the planning, analysis, design, development, testing, quality assurance, configuration, installation, implementation, integration, maintenance, and/or management of networked ITW/AA C2 systems across all levels of the mission environment (day-to-day through scintillation). Functions in this area may include:
  • Analyzing and recommending network requirements
  • Recommending and maintaining network architecture and infrastructure
  • Analyzing network workload
  • Monitoring network capacity and performance
  • Diagnosing and resolving network problems
  • Recommending network backup and recovery procedures
  • Installing, testing, maintaining, and upgrading network operating systems software; and/or ensuring the rigorous application of information security/ cybersecurity policies, principles, and practices in the delivery of network services.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

Preferred Qualifications:

Clearance: Active Top Secret

Education: Bachelor's Degree

Years of Experience: 12 years of experience in the respective technical/professional discipline being performed, 5 of which must be in the DoD; OR Master's Degree 10 years of experience in the respective technical/professional discipline being performed, 5 of which must be in the DoD

Additional experience:

Support implementation and execution of Agile software execution in concert with Government and Prime contractors

• Represent the Government's interests by performing Agile Product Owner roles and responsibilities.
• Familiarity with Missile Warning, Missile Defense and/or Space Domain Awareness or Command and Control Systems
• Familiarity and/or experience with Cloud-based technologies
• Relevant industry certifications from Cisco and CompTIA are preferred.
• Good understanding of networking protocols - switching technologies, routing fundamentals, firewalls, IP subnets, firewalling, load balancing, zones, and Management Networks.
• Working knowledge of network systems, protocols, and standards such as Ethernet, LAN, WAN, xDSL, TCP/IP, fiber, T1, 802.11x, etc.
• vSphere Certification: VCP-DCV
• NSX-T Certification: VCP-NV
• Cisco Certified Network Professional: CCNP
• Experience with DoD STIGs (as related to networking devices)
• Experience with Palo Alto Firewall configurations
• Experience with the ITIL framework and ITIL-based processes, including continual service improvement, change management, and problem investigation.

Pay Range

USD $80,000.00 - USD $110,000.00 /Yr.
