Job summary

Paragon Cyber Solutions is seeking a Network Engineer to join a talented team working on critical infrastructure and security-focused environments. The role involves designing, developing, and implementing network solutions while providing technical leadership across disciplines.

Required: 4+ years in network engineering, Cisco routers/switches, and knowledge of federal security standards (FISMA/NIST). Active TS/SCI clearance and DoD 8570 IAT II beneficial. On-site with US work eligibility.

Qualifications

  • 4+ years in network engineering or IT infrastructure.
  • Hands-on experience with Cisco routers and switches.
  • Knowledge of Internet Protocols and data/network security.
  • Understanding of federal government security requirements (FISMA/NIST).
  • Experience supporting government customers is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership to IT personnel and mentor staff.
  • Support network environments across routers, switches, VPNs, and firewalls.
  • Troubleshoot complex application, system, and network issues.
  • Plan and implement network equipment installation and testing.
  • Define IT policies and report on network health and trends.
  • Maintain network performance through monitoring and tuning.
  • Prepare documentation on performance, stability, and interoperability.
  • Contribute to architecture changes and CONOPS recommendations.
  • Ensure network security through controls and monitoring.
  • Participate in designing integrated customer solutions.

We are seeking a Network Engineer to join a bright, talented, and dedicated team working on critical infrastructure and security-focused environments. In this role, you will help design, develop, modify, evaluate, and implement hardware and network solutions while contributing technical leadership across multidisciplinary efforts.

Responsibilities
  • Provide leadership and guidance to IT personnel, including mentoring, development, and training
  • Serve as a subject matter expert and support the IT network environment across servers, clients, routers, virtual private networks, switches, and firewall devices
  • Troubleshoot complex application, system, and network issues, including availability, utilization, throughput, and latency concerns
  • Plan and execute the selection, installation, configuration, and testing of network equipment
  • Define IT policies and procedures and provide management with status reporting on network health, availability, and trends
  • Maintain network performance through monitoring, analysis, and tuning
  • Analyze IT systems and prepare supporting documentation related to performance, stability, interoperability, and lifecycle considerations
  • Assist in the development, implementation, and documentation of impact assessments, architecture change recommendations, and CONOPS change recommendations
  • Secure the IT network through access controls, monitoring, evaluation, and documentation aligned with applicable standards
  • Participate in the design and development of integrated solutions that meet customer requirements
Required Experience
  • Minimum 4+ years of experience in a related network engineering or IT infrastructure field
  • Hands‑on experience with Cisco routers and switches
  • Knowledge of Internet Protocols, communication protocols, and data and network security
  • Strong understanding of federal government security requirements, including FISMA and NIST guidelines
  • Experience supporting government customers
Additional Eligibility Qualifications
  • Must possess current active TS/SCI clearance
  • Must possess current DoD 8570 IAT II certification; relevant network certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, CCIE, or JNCIE are a plus
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States
  • The flexibility to work occasional non‑duty hours or on weekends to support specific project or mission requirements
