Job summary

TEKsystems is seeking a Network Engineer for a contract role in Charlotte, NC. The role focuses on designing, planning and implementing network infrastructure while supporting Cisco, Juniper and Nokia equipment to ensure reliability and performance.

You will troubleshoot P1-P2 incidents, monitor routing protocols (BGP/OSPF/IS-IS), and contribute to COLAP efforts and customer migrations. This onsite position offers competitive hourly pay and benefits eligibility.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years configuring and troubleshooting Juniper switches, routers and firewalls.
• Experience monitoring networks and working with Nokia devices.
• Experience working with a large ISP environment.
• Strong understanding of BGP, OSPF, IS-IS, MPLS, and VLANs.

Responsibilities

• Design, plan, and implement network infrastructure projects supporting Cisco, Juniper and Nokia equipment.
• Troubleshoot and optimize performance across networks.
• Handle P1-P2 tickets in the first year and assist with customer-facing outages and impairments.

Job Duties:

Looking for a Network Engineer - A Network Administrator may be acceptable. They will be responsible for designing, planning, and implementing network infrastructure projects, supporting Cisco, Juniper and Nokia equipment. This role will require an understanding of troubleshooting and performance optimization. These Engineers will be responsible for P1-P2 tickets their first year covering issues such as outages and impairments that are customer facing.

The main projects will involve code upgrades, Cost Optimized Latency Aware Placement (COLAP), and customer migrations. Tasks will also include working on single customer issues. This role will be the first line of defense in troubleshooting for the Network team with team members for escalation. There will be a 3-4 month ramp up period to get ingrained in their environment with a goal of joining the Sr team members level of expertise down the road.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $50.00/hr.
