Job summary

Actalent in Austin, TX is seeking a Network Engineer for a contract-to-hire role working on the Titan robotic construction platform. This onsite position involves designing and managing an integrated industrial network across robotics, sensors, controls, software, and remote support infrastructure.

You will own network architecture, ensure reliability, and collaborate with software, controls, and hardware teams.

Qualifications

• Experience in industrial networking and IT convergence.
• Familiarity with EtherCAT, PLC, IPC, and VPN technologies.
• Knowledge of routing, switching, VLANs, and remote connectivity.
• Experience with robotics, automation, manufacturing, or other integrated systems.

Essential Skills

• Experience in industrial networking and IT convergence.
• Familiarity with EtherCAT, PLC, IPC, and VPN technologies.
• Proficiency in network architecture and design.
• Knowledge of routing, switching, VLANs, and remote connectivity.
• Strong capability in network troubleshooting and reliability design.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with robotics, automation, manufacturing, or other integrated systems.
• Familiarity with Beckhoff, TwinCAT, PLCs, SCADA, or industrial Ethernet environments.
• Experience supporting remote engineering teams.
• Knowledge of cellular/5G networking and failover.
• Strong documentation and process development skills.

Work Environment

This is a fully onsite role where you will work on the Titan robotic construction printer, consisting of multiple interconnected subsystems including robotics, sensors, controls, software applications, and remote support infrastructure. The work environment offers 10 paid holidays and 1 week of PTO, ideally used during the holiday shutdown in December. Our company is growing, providing opportunities for upward mobility.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Austin, TX.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $60.00 - $70.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
