Job Description

The Network Development Specialist is a vital member of our enterprise's Network Development team, responsible for building and sustaining strong, stable provider networks nationwide. This role involves key recruitment activities and cultivating relationships with providers, Dental Service Organizations (DSOs), and internal business partners in the northeastern region including DC, Maryland, Pennsylvania, New York, New Jersey, and Michigan.

Job Description

The Network Development Specialist is a vital member of our enterprise's Network Development team, responsible for building and sustaining strong, stable provider networks nationwide. This role involves key recruitment activities and cultivating relationships with providers, Dental Service Organizations (DSOs), and internal business partners in the northeastern region including DC, Maryland, Pennsylvania, New York, New Jersey, and Michigan.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and strengthen partnerships with providers to support the growth and stability of our provider networks.
  • Manage recruitment projects and resources within the assigned territory.
  • Plan and execute daily recruitment activities effectively.
  • Assess the cost-effectiveness of contracting specific providers, as needed.
  • Engage and communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels, both internally and externally.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree preferred with 2 or more years of relevant dental or medical network development experience. Equivalent professional experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Proven sales and negotiation skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and general PC literacy.
  • Ability to work securely in a remote environment and maintain consistent attendance.
  • Willingness to travel, including overnight and air travel.
  • Strong organizational skills, with expertise in time management, collaboration, and competitive network analysis.
  • Commitment to exceptional customer service, demonstrated through timely follow-up and effective relationship-building.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, networking, negotiation, and conflict management abilities.
  • Capability to handle job-related expenses, including approval for a corporate charge card.
  • Strong facilitation, consultative, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to give and receive constructive feedback professionally.
  • Detail-oriented, adaptable, and creative.
  • Familiarity with Current Dental Terminology (CDT) codes and dental nomenclature.

Requirements:

  • Reside in MD, PA, NY, NJ or MI.
  • High School Diploma/GED.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Ability to maintain $250,000/$500,000 collision damage liability insurance.

Base Pay Information

The national base pay range at the end is a good-faith estimate of what Delta Dental may pay for new hires. Actual pay may vary based on Delta Dental's assessment of the candidate's knowledge, skills, abilities (KSAs), related experience, education, certifications, and ability to meet required minimum job qualifications. Other factors impacting pay include prevailing wages in the work location and internal equity.

Pay Grade 18. $56,900 - $119,200
