Troubleshoot networking, routing and interconnectivity problems, including troubleshooting of network device hardware failures. Identify and troubleshoot recurring platform problems. Collaborate with internal teams to diagnose problems and return devices/configurations to a healthy state. Escalate to external vendors (Cisco, Juniper, etc.) to diagnose problems and facilitate part replacement. Work with ISPs to diagnose problems between Amazon's network and their infrastructure.
Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field and four years of experience in the job offered or a related occupation. Must have four years of experience in the following skill(s): (1) working with major internet routing protocols BGP, OSPF and MPLS; and (2) working in a Linux or Unix environment. Must have one year of experience in the following skill(s): (1) automation scripting using Python, Bash, Shell, or Perl.
