You'll guide the development and support of Provider Networks as well as unit cost management activities through financial and network pricing modeling, analysis, and reporting. Primary Responsibilities:

  • Initial contracting and recontracting (which includes, any new services, new products, and renegotiation of reimbursement) for behavioral health outpatient providers, value-based arrangements and outpatient providers (when applicable)
  • Evaluates and negotiates contracts in compliance with company contract templates, reimbursement structures standards and other key initiatives
  • Working with new and existing behavioral health outpatient providers to initiate their participating provider agreements, negotiate the reimbursement terms and contract template language
  • Working with Health Care Economics in evaluating rate proposals
  • Working closely with the Provider Relations Advocates to provide guidance on the provider’s contract terms and requirements
  • Support recruitment that is associated with new employer groups, Requests for Proposals related to commercial and C&S opportunities

Required Qualifications:

  • 2+ years in Provider contracting with an understanding of contract language; reimbursement methodologies and products (i.e commercial, Medicare & Medicaid)
  • Proven skilled in working within Excel spreadsheets and manipulating data in Excel (basic formulas and pivot tables)
  • Proven good communication skills; key for developing relationships with Providers and being able to communicate proposed contract terms to reach mutually acceptable agreement

Preferred Qualification:

  • Proven background in behavioral health contracting; understanding the different levels of care and provider types

The salary range for this role is $59,500 to $116,600 annually based on full-time employment. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
