Job summary

Island Finance is seeking a Network & Communications Specialist to manage the institution’s voice, data, and cloud connectivity across branches and offices. You will optimize LAN/WAN/SD‑WAN, enterprise Wi‑Fi, VPNs, and secure network services while ensuring policy compliance and security best practices.

The role supports Fortinet FortiGate and FortiManager/FortiAnalyzer, SD‑WAN, VoIP/SIP, and collaboration services, with a focus on availability, performance, and incident response in a regulated

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Computer/Telecommunications/Electrical) or Computer Science, or equivalent experience.
• 3+ years administering multi-site networks in regulated environments.
• Proficient knowledge of network concepts and protocols.
• Fortinet NSE 4/7 or higher; Cisco CCNA/CCNP; CompTIA Network+/Security+; ITIL v4 Foundation.
• Cloud certifications with networking emphasis: AWS, OCI.

Responsibilities

• Manage routing/switching (BGP/OSPF, VLAN, QoS) and enterprise Wi‑Fi.
• Oversee Fortinet firewalls/IPS (FortiGate) policies and analytics platforms.
• Monitor load balancers, Wi‑Fi controllers, ADC, and segmentation.
• Maintain DNS, DHCP, NTP, IPAM, and IP addressing controls.
• Design and optimize secure cloud connectivity with OCI and AWS (VPNs, FastConnect/Direct Connect).
• Ensure HA, failover, and resilience for cloud interconnects.
• Support VoIP/SIP/SBC, QoS for voice quality; integrate with contact center/IVR.
