Network Cabling Technician with BICSI certification

Location: Annapolis, MD

Duration: 2-year contract with 3-year renewal option

Responsibilities

• Serve as an expert advisor and technical specifications coordinator for various remote site activities.
• Lead installations and vendor scheduling.
• Follow up on installation of site‑wide infrastructure, including equipment, cabling, power, HVAC, and telecommunication circuits.
• Engage management, project managers, and service vendors for project assignments.
• Act as the single point of contact for project vendors and providers.
• Plan and coordinate activity scheduling, budgeting, and administrative tasks.

Qualifications

• Minimum 8 years of relevant work experience, including at least 3 years in the cabling/telecommunications industry with installation, testing, and troubleshooting of cabling systems.
• Ability to analyze, interpret blueprints, site plans, and drawings to prepare SOW, SOO, and PWO documents.
• Proficient in budgeting and estimating material and labor requirements.
• Experience with copper, fiber‑optic, and coaxial applications; knowledge of EIA/TIA standards and industry design criteria.
• Knowledge of structured cabling and wiring methods, including building conduit, riser cabling, and conduit system installation with manholes and hand holes.
• Experience in distribution facilities, networking, data centers, wireless, and antenna systems infrastructure design and installation.
• Ability to evaluate technical and financial proposals with detailed reports and recommendations.
• Extensive experience coordinating both small and large‑scale cabling and telecommunications projects.
• Background in fundamental voice, video, data, and wireless network technologies (LAN/WAN, Wireless, VoIP, physical security, video conferencing).
• Hands‑on experience with large network rollout deployment activities.
• Ability to travel throughout Maryland as needed; flexible schedule including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Must provide own transportation and possess a valid Maryland driver’s license.
• Experience with related tools such as Fluke.
• Networking certification is a plus.
