Job summary

Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Minnesota is seeking a Network Business and Finance Consultant to support provider contracting, settlements, reporting, and business analysis through data analysis and process execution.

You will work on budgeting, forecasting, accounting, audit support, and settlement projection activities, with a focus on compliance and accuracy in provider arrangements. The role emphasizes cross-functional collaboration and building healthcare finance knowledge.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of related finance professional experience.
• Bachelor’s degree; in lieu of a degree, an additional two years of relevant experience beyond the qualifications listed above may be accepted.
• Preferred: Healthcare or health insurance industry experience.
• Preferred: Experience with financial modeling tools.
• Preferred: Knowledge of healthcare payment methodologies.

Responsibilities

• Review provider contract language and financial terms for accuracy and compliance.

• Prepare and maintain financial reports related to provider claims, settlements, and healthcare costs.
• Assist with cost recovery and chargeback processes through data gathering and analysis.
• Analyze and report healthcare cost, discount, and unit cost trend information.
• Support Value-Based Payment (VBP) teams with data, reports, and analyses for modeling and forecasting.
• Gather, validate, and report information for local, state, and federal reporting requirements.

The Impact You'll Have

As a Network Business and Finance Consultant, you will support provider contracting, settlements, reporting, and business analysis activities through data analysis, process execution, and operational support. In this role, you will contribute to the accuracy, compliance, and effectiveness of provider arrangements while developing foundational knowledge of healthcare finance, payment methodologies, forecasting, and business operations. Through collaboration on cross-functional initiatives and day-to-day analytical activities, you will build the technical and professional skills necessary to support business objectives and assume increasing levels of responsibility.

What You'll Do

• Assist with reviewing provider contract language and financial terms to ensure accuracy and compliance
• Support the processing, reconciliation, and invoicing of provider settlement payments
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, accounting, audit support, and settlement projection activities

How You'll Do It

• Prepare and maintain financial reports related to provider claims, settlements, and healthcare costs
• Support cost recovery and chargeback processes through data gathering and analysis
• Analyze and report healthcare cost, discount, and unit cost trend information
• Support Value-Based Payment (VBP) teams by preparing data, reports, and analyses for modeling, forecasting and audit activities
• Assist with gathering, validating, and reporting information for local, state, and federal reporting requirements
• Participate in cross-functional projects and departmental initiatives
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and share recommendations with team members and leadership
• Performs additional responsibilities consistent with the scope and level of the role, as assigned

Required Skills & Experience

• 3+ years of related finance professional experience.
• Bachelor’s degree; in lieu of a degree, an additional two years of relevant experience beyond the qualifications listed above may be accepted.

Preferred Skills & Experience

• Healthcare or health insurance industry experience.
• Experience with financial modeling tools.
• Knowledge of healthcare payment methodologies.
• Ability to develop and perform audit processes.
• Ability to tailor communication to varied audiences, actively listen to uncover requirements, and ensure accurate and timely information exchange.
• Ability to analyze information, identify patterns and root causes, and collaborate with partners to implement practical solutions.
• Ability to effectively organize work, balance competing priorities, and manage time across multiple responsibilities and deadlines.

Role Designation

• Hybrid Role designation definition: Teleworking is working full time remote.
• Hybrid is a minimum of 2 days onsite.
• Onsite is full-time onsite.

Compensation and Benefits

$79,100.00 - $104,800.00 - $130,500.00 Annual Pay is based on several factors which vary based on position, including skills, ability, and knowledge the selected individual is bringing to the specific job.
