Job summary

IDR, Inc. is seeking a Network & IT Automation Engineer to design, implement, and maintain automated solutions for our client in Chantilly, VA. This onsite role blends networking expertise with scripting to improve reliability and efficiency of the IT infrastructure.

You will reduce manual tasks, implement configuration management, and contribute to monitoring posture while collaborating with cross‑functional teams to enable scalable, resilient networks.

Qualifications

• 3–7 years of experience in network engineering or systems administration.
• Hands‑on automation/scripting experience with Python, PowerShell, or Bash.
• Familiarity with configuration management / IaC tools like Ansible, Terraform, Git, CI/CD pipelines.

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage automation solutions to streamline network and IT ops.
• Combine traditional networking with scripting and automation for scalable infrastructure.
• Reduce manual effort and increase system uptime to meet growing demands.
• Work with cross‑functional teams to implement IaC and improve monitoring of networks and systems.
