Qualifications

Job description

We are looking for a skilled Network Automation Engineer to design, develop, and maintain automation solutions for enterprise network infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have strong networking fundamentals along with hands‑on experience in Python, network automation frameworks, APIs, and DevOps practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain network automation scripts and tools using Python.
• Automate network provisioning, configuration, compliance, monitoring, and troubleshooting.
• Work with network devices including Cisco, Arista, Juniper, and other enterprise platforms.
• Develop automation using Ansible, Ansible Tower/AWX, and similar orchestration tools.
• Integrate network automation solutions with REST APIs, NETCONF, RESTCONF, and SNMP.
• Build reusable automation frameworks and libraries for network operations.
• Automate configuration backups, software upgrades, health checks, and compliance validation.
• Implement configuration management and infrastructure-as-code practices.
• Troubleshoot network and automation‑related issues and provide root‑cause analysis.
• Collaborate with Network Engineering, DevOps, Cloud, Security, and SRE teams.
• Maintain documentation for automation workflows, scripts, processes, and network standards.
• Participate in CI/CD implementation for network automation.
• Monitor automation jobs and improve reliability, scalability, and execution time.

Required Skills

• 3-8 years of experience in network engineering/network automation or a related role.
• Relevant certifications such as CCNA/CCNP, DevNet, or equivalent are preferred.
• Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, routing, switching, VLANs, BGP, OSPF, MPLS, VPNs, and network troubleshooting.
• Strong hands‑on experience with Python scripting.
• Experience with Ansible and network automation.
• Knowledge of REST APIs, JSON, YAML, XML, and API integration.
• Experience with Git/GitHub/GitLab and version control.
• Understanding of Linux/Unix environments.
• Experience working with Cisco/Arista/Juniper networking platforms.
• Knowledge of CI/CD concepts and DevOps practices.
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem‑solving skills.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with Netmiko, NAPALM, Nornir, Paramiko, or similar Python libraries.
• Knowledge of Terraform and Infrastructure as Code.
• Experience with Jenkins, GitLab CI, or GitHub Actions.
• Knowledge of Docker/Kubernetes.
• Experience with cloud networking in AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Familiarity with network telemetry, observability, and monitoring tools.
• Experience with Cisco DNA Center, NSO, or Arista CloudVision.
• Knowledge of YANG models and model‑driven programmability.
