Job summary

City of Lincoln is seeking a Network and Applications Support Specialist to assist the Network Administrator with software implementation and user coordination for network support. You will maintain knowledge of computer systems and work with vendors to troubleshoot and deploy new applications, create training materials, and help end-users with PC, network and phone system issues.

Ideal candidates have a degree in CS/IT or equivalent, 2–5 years of experience with servers, networks and MS Office;

Qualifications

• Degree in Computer Science or Information Technology or equivalent work experience.
• Two to five years of experience with Servers, Networks and Microsoft Office Products.
• Microsoft Certification and Jack Henry experience preferred.
• Previous banking network administration preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in maintenance of applications including, but not limited to, other hardware and software.
• Actively involved in new installation of software locally with software owners.
• Participates in project management of new application implementation and training.
• Create training materials for existing and new applications.
• Works with 3rd Party vendors to troubleshoot network performance and connectivity issues.
• Engage with end-users to solve technical issues and guidance on PC’s, network, and phone system.
• Works with outside contractors to assist with duties assigned.
• Recommends upgrades of applications and equipment.
• Other duties as assigned.

Summary of Position
