Essential Responsibilities
- Work closely with business management to resolve business process and productivity needs and develop an appropriate technology strategy to support business goals.
- Analyze technical needs, requirements, and the current state of the network’s infrastructure design, integration, and operations.
- Collaborate with technical management to architect networks that effectively reflect business needs, service-level and availability requirements, and other technology parameters.
- Develop design principles, models, plans, internal standards, budgets, and processes based on industry best practices.
- Establish governing principles for network design and deployment.
- Participate in the selection of networking technologies and products for implementation.
- Possess strong communication and presentation skills, ownership acumen, and the ability to deconstruct complex problems into actionable tasks.
- Lead teams of network designers and engineers in developing detailed designs and quality-control during implementation.
- Continuously update understanding of business and technology status and respond to strategic design requests as the business evolves.
- Have an in-depth understanding of business strategy and communicate effectively with senior business leaders and C-level executives.
Required Skills
- Expertise in configuring and operating Cisco, Juniper, Brocade, and Arista switches and routers. Certifications like CCIE, CCNP, and Juniper are preferred.
- Expertise in carrier technologies such as BGP, VRF Lite, ISIS, MPLS, BFD, CCC, GRE, and RSVP.
- Expertise in routing protocols including IBGP, OSPF, VRRP, VRRP, HSRP, and PBR.
- Experience in administering firewall policies across multiple platforms: Palo Alto, Juniper, Cisco, and Fortinet.
- Experience with configuration, installation, troubleshooting, and support of network equipment, wireless access points, and firewall policies across different platforms.
- Detail-oriented and organized.
- Excellent client relationship skills.
- Excellent documentation skills using Microsoft Office and Visio.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Willingness to work early mornings and/or late nights for critical network changes.
- Ability to travel.
- Ability to learn new and unfamiliar technologies independently using documentation and online resources.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines.
