Senior Network Architect | Cloud, Automation & Enterprise Systems Design | Active TS/SCI with CI Poly Required
Are you a visionary Network Architect with the technical depth to design enterprise-scale solutions and the strategic mindset to shape the future of a mission-critical government program? We are looking for an experienced, forward-thinking professional ready to define architecture standards, drive cloud strategy, and serve as a trusted technical leader on one of the most complex and high-profile programs in the government sector.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
As a Senior Network Architect, you will serve as a key technical authority responsible for designing, documenting, and advancing the enterprise architecture of a large-scale, multi-cloud IT environment in direct support of a key government customer. You will translate complex, multifaceted mission requirements into scalable, secure, and future-ready architectural solutions — providing strategic direction, developing roadmaps, and establishing standards that guide engineering teams across the program. From evaluating emerging technologies and developing high-level system specifications to collaborating with engineers on design solutions and supporting the full Systems Engineering Lifecycle (SELC), your work will shape the technological foundation of a program that demands the very best.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
Required Qualifications:
- Clearance: Active Top Secret/SCI clearance with Full Scope Polygraph (FS Poly) required
- Education: Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Systems Engineering, or a related field
- Experience: 11+ years of relevant network architecture and systems engineering experience
Required Technical Skills:
- Cloud Architecture: Deep, hands-on expertise across major cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, IBM Cloud, Oracle Cloud), with the ability to design sophisticated multi-cloud solutions that address the complex needs of large-scale enterprise IT environments
- Automation & Development: Significant experience with Python, Java, and automation frameworks, with the ability to develop and implement solutions that streamline operations and reduce manual overhead
- Modern Software Languages: Proficiency in modern programming and scripting languages including Python, Bash, JavaScript, and others relevant to enterprise systems design
- Configuration Management: Working knowledge of configuration management and infrastructure provisioning tools such as Puppet, Salt, Terraform, and Chef
- Containerization: Solid understanding of container technologies including Docker and Kubernetes in enterprise or cloud-native environments
- Architecture Design & Standards: Proven ability to create and maintain architecture design standards, develop high-level system specifications, and establish models that guide engineering execution across complex programs
- Strategic Direction & Roadmapping: Demonstrated ability to provide strategic technology direction, develop multi-year roadmaps, and align architectural decisions with the customer's long-term vision and goals
- SELC Support: Experience providing Systems Engineering Lifecycle (SELC) support across large-scale IT programs
- Technology Evaluation: Ability to assess current and emerging technologies, identify their impact on existing solutions, and recommend adoption strategies that advance program objectives
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Strong ability to work alongside engineers, program managers, and customer stakeholders to refine design solutions and drive consensus
- Independent Execution: Highly self-motivated with a track record of driving complex initiatives to completion with minimal oversight
NICE TO HAVE
Preferred Qualifications:
- Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE): Experience applying MBSE methodologies to capture, analyze, and communicate complex system architectures
- Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Hands-on experience designing and managing infrastructure through code-driven approaches in cloud and hybrid environments
- SecDevOps: Familiarity with Security Development Operations (SecDevOps) principles within iterative, agile development programs
- Agile Development: Working knowledge of Agile principles and experience contributing to sprint-based, iterative delivery environments
- Web Frameworks & Applications: Familiarity with web application frameworks such as Ruby on Rails, Django, or similar modern frameworks
- Automated Testing: Experience with automated testing tools and practices to support continuous integration and delivery pipelines
