Position Overview

The Network Architect develops, enhances, maintains, and troubleshoots network infrastructure hardware, operating systems, firewalls, configuration changes, system performance, and related technologies. This includes designing network architecture, specifying servers, routers, switches, firewalls, remote access systems, and network management systems. The role provides technical assistance and mentoring to team members and customers.

Essential Duties

  • Design and develop complex networking architecture to support current and future connectivity for OCHIN and its members.
  • Evaluate current networking architecture to identify improvements.
  • Determine technical strategies, frameworks, and tools for network architecture.
  • Assist with technical escalations supporting the team, Epic EMR, and integrations.
  • Consult with leadership on design and support strategies.
  • Provide hands-on expertise to resolve internal and external networking issues.
  • Support and lead the adoption of new and evolving network technologies to meet strategic and growth needs.
  • Define OCHIN’s network architectural strategies and processes.
  • Make long-term supportability decisions for network architecture and design.
  • Scope, create, document, and review network designs and improvements.
  • Lead calls as a Subject Matter Expert (SME), assess technical requirements with vendors, and participate in design sessions.
  • Mentor teams from scoping through design to ensure configurations meet operational and strategic needs.
  • Ensure network and system architectures are aligned and synchronized.
  • Act as a liaison among teams to ensure cross-functionality and system development efficiency.
  • Support documentation efforts and provide expert networking support to members and team members.
  • Conduct high-level project analysis and planning, potentially leading medium to large projects, including design, analysis, and implementation.
  • Identify project risks and assist project managers in tracking key decision points and timelines.
  • Evaluate information from sources and vendors to reconcile conflicts and clarify needs.
  • Manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
  • Other duties as assigned.
