Overview
As a Network and Application Performance Engineer, you will solve clients’ enterprise-wide network, application, and server capacity and performance issues using Riverbed technologies (NetPlanner, NetMapper, and others). This role combines engineering disciplines with a business focus for delivering IT performance management solutions, planning, designing, deploying, operating, managing, and optimizing IT infrastructures.
Responsibilities
- Serve as an expert in cloud migration, WAN optimization, networking and application performance, and/or application delivery, utilizing Riverbed's complete Application Performance portfolio
- Provide specialized planning and design expertise in data center consolidation and data migration, network configuration and analysis, and application performance troubleshooting and/or optimization
- Analyze customers’ IT organization, requirements, and processes, and use this knowledge to drive adoption and utilization of the client’s solutions to maximize ROI and business value
- Present and articulate advanced product features, benefits, and overall product solutions
- Produce solutions to fulfill customer needs within budget and schedule constraints
- Collaborate with customers, colleagues, and other stakeholders to achieve project goals
Qualifications
- Must be a US Citizen
- MUST HAVE AN ACTIVE SECRET DoD CLEARANCE
- Onsite role (no remote work)
- Experience with Riverbed tools (NetPlanner, NetMapper, SteelHead, AppResponse, Profiler, NETIM, NetCollector, NetAuditor, Aternity) and related IT infrastructure
- Experience with data center processes, network configurations, and application performance optimization
- Experience with Splunk, Cisco, Juniper, Cryptos, Palo Alto, ArcSIGHT, and Nessus Vulnerability scanning and RMF
- Minimum DOD 8140 / DOD 8570 IAT Level II certification (e.g., A+ CE, CCNA-Security, Security+, Network+ CE, CISSP, CASP, SSCP)
- BS/MS degree in a technical field, or equivalent military or career experience
- CCNA (routing, switching) preferred
- SD-WAN experience preferred
- Experience in professional services, technical consulting, or network engineering/operations preferred
- Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical audiences and translate technical features into business benefits
- Self-motivated with high performance under minimal supervision
- Excellent business writing and presentation skills
- Professionalism for Fortune 500 clients and a collaborative team player
Additional Information
Salary: $90,000 - $120,000 annually, depending on experience.
