Job summary

The New York Times seeks an experienced Network and Computer Systems Administrator to manage and optimize our enterprise network infrastructure, ensuring IT compliance and leading infrastructure upgrades and automation projects.

You will work across routing, switching, firewalls, VPN technologies, Windows Server environments, and enterprise monitoring tools to maintain high availability and robust security, collaborating with IT teams to deliver reliable services.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical and Computer Engineering, IT or a related field and 1 year network/system administration experience.
• Bachelor's degree and 3 years' experience in the same areas (accepted).
• Experience with Cisco IOS, Meraki or Juniper Junos networking platforms.
• SIEM log monitoring platform, IBM QRadar or Cisco Splunk.
• Network packet analysis tools.
• Leading or completing network and IT infrastructure projects.
• Enterprise networking technologies including routing, switching, firewalls, and VPN technologies.
• Windows Server environments.
• Enterprise network monitoring tools (Solarwinds, PRTG, Zabbix, etc.).
• Packet analysis tools (Wireshark, Packet Tracer, etc.).
